  • Gas mileage less than advertised mpg - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

I purchased a 2012 Toyota Hybrid Camry a few weeks ago and am disappointed with the gas mileage. I drive around town mostly, no fast starts, coast whenever possible - getting about 36 mpg on the last 2 fillups. I took it to the Toyota mechanic and couldnt find anything wrong. He said there is no break-in period needed to get the expected average 41 mpg. Frustrated owner! Ill be back to the Toyota dealer pounding the door very soon. Unsure of next steps if no resolution -

  • XLE Hybrid - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

Lets face it buyinh a hybrid is all about gas mileage. I have had my 2012 XLE for approx. 1.5 months and I have driven nearly 1000 miles. The car came with a full tank and when I filled up, the odometer read 672. Thats 49 MPG with combined city/hwy driving (primarily city). Thats also 20% better than advertised! The 2nd tank is not getting quite as good, so far 47.6 MPG. Still quite respectable. The vehicle is designed to get great gas mileage. If you drive it conservatively (slow takeoff, slow stops) youll probably get similiar results to mine. Overall, Im quite pleased with the car. Its incredibly quiet, has plenty of power when needed and has all the luxury I need.

  • Comfortable Car, but Poor Initial Quality - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

This is a very comfortable car to drive, and it gets terrific gas mileage, but initial quality is unacceptable. I have had this car for 3 months, and it has been back to the shop 5 times. Defective speaker diagnosed on 1st visit, replaced on 2nd visit. Sunroof side garnish came loose and smeared grease on window. Garnish re-attached on 3rd visit. Missing rear seat belt buckle replaced on 4th visit. Functionality problem with JBL premium sound system (complicated) diagnosed on 5th visit. Toyota asked me to bring it in at a later date. Vertical grease smear on right rear power window (undiagnosed) to be addressed on 6th visit along with the radio. Big hassle!

  • Our second Camry Hybrid - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

With about 10,000 miles under our belt and this being our second Camry hybrid I would say this is a great car. Our 2008 Camry Hybrid got about 36 mpg over all and this 2012 gets about 41. My best tank so far has been 43 mpg mixed, with about half of that being 75-80 mph highway driving. As before we have noticed that very cold or hot weather reduces the mileage greatly. I think the interior is well designed and the seats very comfortable. I would however like to have my full leather seats back as I dont care for the cloth panel seats as much. Love that the trunk space is so much greater than the 08 model.

  • First impressions - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Second time around Camry Hybrid owner, did over 60k miles in my 2010 all trouble free but was suffering a boredom attack so wanted to try the 2012 model, pretty much the same except for the little EVO button, press it in and be ready for some fun, even will give the V6 a run for its money and still do 40 MPG

  • be carefull - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

I had wrote a previous review which i like to update. HERE IS A WARNING ON KEYLESS IGNITIONS.. I went to a restaurant and parked my camry. i was distract, i thought my car was off , the lights and the engine was off. 1.5 hrs later i returned to my camry to find the lights on and the engine running. if this had been in my garage i could have died from carbon monixide poising.. the engine goes on when the battery runs down. this is scary and a feature that has to be recitified. they were 4 deaths in palm beach cty from this from a gasoline engine lexus.so a hybrid could be worse. make sure you button to the ignition is off.the car recoginizes the wireless key.it doenot dissengage when leaving

  • Having your cake and eating it - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

This is my first Camry. Recently I owned a 2010 Mazda 6 3.7 and a 2012 Kia Optima 2.4. The Camry simply is a class above these two. I hadnt even driven a Camry or a Hybrid before June this year. I believe cars should go around bends when asked to, which is why I never owned one. However, Toyota have re-worked the suspension and it handles better than my Mazda, although not quite as good as the Optima. The hard ride is new to Camry owners, but it is there, believe me. However, it holds the road well, the Bridgestone Turanza tires appear to help.

  • Best Hybrid or sedan right now - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

THIS 2012 CAMRY is amazing, got a xle fully equipped in white beige interior. the ride is excellent, the inside space is very good, the mileage ,ist fill 40.4 mpg 2nd 38.6 mpg 3rd.42.4 mpg.. city 60%40% hwy.amazing.it has a spare tire, the car can move0-60 in 7.2 sec.. better than a four cyl, almost as good as a six cyl.no hessitation like the sonota hybrid.bigger trunk,.bigger than ther fusion, the sun roof on the fusion hits my head. negatives- the car is going back to repair the stching on the leather which is crimped &looks cheap, electronic steering to loose. also cheap plastic inside otherwise a great car.consumers rated it 93 thats the highest no right now.
